At Drive Safe NY, we are committed to making roads safer while helping drivers save money. Although we are new to the online setting, we have been offering Defensive Driving Courses since 2017. As we expand, we’re excited to provide flexible learning options, including live Zoom sessions, in-person classroom instruction, and independent self-study courses.
Our goal is to empower drivers with the knowledge and skills to make smart driving decisions, reduce points from their licenses, and qualify for insurance discounts. Our course is fully certified by the New York State DMV, ensuring drivers receive all the benefits of an official defensive driving program.
For our Spanish-speaking community, we proudly offer in-person courses in Spanish, making safe driving education more accessible to everyone.

Since 2017, Marilyn S. Berisiartua has been a passionate and interactive Defensive Driving Course instructor, empowering drivers with the knowledge and skills to make safe, responsible choices on the road. Her engaging teaching style ensures that every student leaves her class with confidence and a deeper understanding of defensive driving.With over 15 years of experience as an insurance agency owner, Marilyn is equally dedicated to helping individuals and families find the right coverage while saving money. She believes that education is key—not just in driving, but in making informed insurance decisions that protect what matters most.Beyond her professional life, Marilyn finds joy in staying active and working out. However, her greatest accomplishment is being a proud mother to her five wonderful children. Her passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom, as she loves educating people about insurance and helping them secure the best possible protection for their future.
